That's great to know that Pottsville schools are finally embracing O'Hara. It's a terrific way to teach both literature and local history, as the teacher points out. Kudos to him. My mother grew up in Pottsville in the 30s and early 40s. She went to Pottsville Catholic High (now BVM) just behind Kathleen O'Hara, JOH's youngest sibling. Of course back then, so shortly after Appointment was published, he was still consider a pariah.
