The John O’Hara Society’s summer meeting will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 21.
The meeting will feature lunch, Society business

attendees are encouraged to have read all or part of the novel in advance of the
meeting.
We are currently scheduled to meet in New York
City at Connolly’s Pub at 14 East 47th Street, but may change venue based on the
origin of attendees. If you plan to attend, please RSVP in the

We’re looking forward to a great turnout.
Revised Pal Joey
The Barn Theatre in Augusta, MI has mounted a
“revisal” of PAL JOEY. It sounds heavily revised.
According to Encore Michigan, “In this version, Joey is a talented
black singer in 1948 Chicago, and it's mostly his skin color holding him back.
So he uses what he knows – sex – to gain power in an unequal world.”
